Honorable Mention Gentle on my mind Kathleen Blake I watch the willow parting, a thousand strands tumbling against me, embracing each portion a fraction of the whole. I will return to the Eastern Shore where I wept, there is no willow there, only rivulets of air that once passed over my soul. I will remember how much I love you, you were my friend, my friend. Willow strands parted as twin souls separated. And yet, wouldn't it be wonderful? If one day, aged and jaded we may be, There, we will weep, embrace, and every strand that once divided shall bind resonating a chorus of felicity beneath a cathedral sky.
